Why rely on Startopsy
The honest case for a tool that scores your work — what Startopsy does that other validation tools do not, and the limits it will not paper over.
A fair question to ask of any tool that scores your work. Here is the honest case, and the limits.
Evidence, not encouragement
Startopsy will not advance you a phase because you feel confident. Progress is tied to what you have recorded — market answers, interviews, quotes, patterns — which makes the score hard to game and therefore worth looking at. Most tools reward filling in boxes; this one rewards finding out.
Traceable to your own inputs
Every risk, hypothesis and next action is derived from answers you gave about your startup, so you can always ask why and get a specific reason rather than a generic best practice. Nothing is a template.
Grounded in live sources
The deep audit searches Google, Reddit and GitHub at the time you run it. That is how it can tell you an open-source project already does what you planned to charge for, or that interest in your category peaked two years ago.
Disciplined about what it does not know
The engine runs a pre-flight protocol before acting: restate the task, check its preconditions and whether its data is fresh, choose the smallest sufficient action, validate the call, then state its confidence and name its assumptions. In our adversarial test suite it caught 100% of precondition traps, passed 6 of 6 hostile fixtures, blocked 100% of speculative chaining attempts, and flags cached findings older than fourteen days instead of quietly reusing them.
Memory across the whole journey
Your startup is one continuous record, not a series of disconnected prompts. Come back after two weeks of customer conversations and Starty still knows what you were testing and why.
Where the limits are
- Startopsy cannot do your interviews. It tells you who to talk to and what to ask; the field work is yours.
- Market sizing is an estimate. Treat it as an order of magnitude to argue with, not a figure to put in a deck unchallenged.
- A high score is not funding, and a low score is not a verdict on you — it is a list of what is still unproven.
